Difference between Oil Portraits and Digital Paintings

Due to their unique strengths and weaknesses, oil paintings and digital paintings are the two most popular forms of art. The process of making both forms of paintings is different, and the time needed to create them is also not the same. Oil portraits are costlier than digital paintings and they require a lot of effort. Oil painting portraits are handmade and artists use real paints using brushes to the canvas. Whereas, digital portraits are made using digital software and tools on a computer or laptop. Many available programs provide digital brushes, blending modes, and many other effects to create a digital painting. If any mistake is made during the process, it can be easily erased but in the case of oil portraits, the mistakes made can be permanent and cannot be easily erased. Therefore, for a portrait painter, it is very important to be careful and alert.
