As a next step, you should sketch the image, in which you want to make the portrait. After sketching the image you should paint the eyes and then block in the darks and shadows. Further steps to be followed are blocking in mid-tone colors and then layering the lightest tones over the top. Then, defining detail areas and making adjustments should be done. After doing all these things, work on hair color and details and highlights, with all these steps your painting can be wrapped but before this background of the portrait should be painted.
